[ EXP: 15Y+ ] [ CLASS: SYMBIOTIC_DESIGNER ] [ STAMINA: HIGH ]

Algorithms can generate options, but they cannot take responsibility. With 15+ years of combat experience in product design, I supply the judgment, empathy, and strategic context that AI lacks. I am the pilot in the cockpit.

// HIRING SNAPSHOTSenior Product Designer - Enterprise Platforms / Trust & Safety

What I’m strongest at:

  • Enterprise SaaS / platform UX
  • Design systems (tokens, governance, migration)
  • Trust, safety, reliability, observability
  • Workflow UX (edge cases, recovery paths, integrity)
  • Specs that engineers can ship

Proof fast:

  • i-Rays: 10 UI screens shipped in 10 weeks across 3 engineering pods
  • Design governance: federated DS for 8+ internal tools
  • Conversation UX: Sendbird + backend model, edge-cases

If you need the short version: start with:

Why this operator

I don’t optimize for output. I optimize for coherence under pressure.

I design where the cost of mistakes is real: complex enterprise systems, AI-powered workflows, and high-stakes flows that need to earn trust before they earn adoption.

My focus is not "more design output." It's clearer decisions and safer shipping. I'm strongest when teams move fast and the product needs structure: behavior models, edge cases, governance, and craft that survives production.

// OPERATOR AT A GLANCE
ROLE: Senior Product Designer / Fractional Operator
DOMAIN: Enterprise SaaS, Observability, Platform Ecosystems
STACK: AI-augmented workflows, Design Systems, Trust & Safety
TEAMS: Cross-functional, Distributed, Scale
BASE: Poznań, PL / Remote Global

"He has a deep curiosity and innovated in the area of bringing AI into his design workflow, and sharing his learnings with the entire team. Michał is a fantastic designer to work with, and I highly recommend him!"

-- Kris Niles, Principal Designer (previously InVision, 37Signals, Citrix)

"He has the experience needed to partner with product owners and lead teams toward a well-defined vision. He is a natural leader who can roll up his sleeves to get great design into production."

-- Will Hortman, Product Design Leader (Head of Design at LeanTaaS; previously HolidayCheck, Sunbelt Rentals, Lithium/Khoros)

// OPERATING PRINCIPLES

Non-negotiables

01 / Clarity beats cleverness

If users need faith to use the product, the UX has failed. Every state, every transition, every edge case - legible.

02 / Guardrails enable speed

Safety is not the opposite of velocity. It's what makes velocity sustainable. No guardrails = no trust = no adoption.

03 / No confidence theater

Especially in AI interfaces. If the system is uncertain, the UI must be honest. Fake certainty destroys trust faster than errors.

04 / Behavior first, screens second

Screens are snapshots. Systems are outcomes. I model what happens, not just what it looks like.

05 / Ship reality, not demos

Production-grade or nothing. A prototype that can't survive engineering handoff is decoration.

// FLIGHT LOG

15+ years in production environments

Image
2024 - present / RTB House (Poland) / Senior Product Designer

Building federated design governance across 40+ internal products. Introduced "Panel DNA" system — ensuring UI consistency without killing functional divergence for specialized data tools.

Image 11 (1)
2022 - 2024 / BuildBook (USA) / Mobile Product Designer

Redesigned core mobile experience for the US construction market. Integrated early AI workflows to accelerate research and delivery. Focus: "Engineering-ready" specs that reduced dev friction in a lean startup environment.

Image
2016 - 2021 / HolidayCheck AG (GERMANY) / Senior Product Designer

Complex B2B platforms, multi-stakeholder environments. Learned to design under constraints: regulated industries, legacy systems, cross-functional politics.

Image 12 (1)
2009 - 2022 / High-Scale Platform Ecosystems / Lead & Senior Roles

Designed for massive user bases (millions of DAU) across European tech leaders in e-commerce and classifieds. Mission focus: Migrating legacy systems to modern stacks, establishing early Design Ops structures, and conducting rigorous usability research at scale.

What operators on the ground say

"Michal is easily one of the best, most well-rounded UX professionals I've worked with. He has the experience needed to partner with product owners and lead product teams toward a well-defined, user-focused vision. He is a natural leader who can mentor designers and help them grow their careers. And he can roll up his sleeves when it's time to conduct usability tests, produce wireframes for discussion with the team, or work with developers to get great design into production."

-- Will Hortman, Product Design Leader (Head of Design at LeanTaaS; previously HolidayCheck, Sunbelt Rentals, Lithium/Khoros)

"Michał is one of those designers that goes above and beyond. Combines deep design craft with research rigor. Engineering-ready outcomes."

-- Kris Niles, Principal Designer (previously InVision, 37Signals, Citrix)

"Pragmatic. Engineering-ready. No fluff."

-- MITCHELL LANE, VP OF ENGINEERING AT HOUSECALL PRO (FIELD SERVICE MANAGEMENT PLATFORM, USED BY MILLIONS)

// OPERATIONAL RANGE

Where I deliver the most value

01 / Complex Workflows

Image 4 (1)

B2B systems, platform UX, multi-step tasks with many stakeholders. I bring structure to chaos without killing momentum.

02 / Trust & Safety

Image 4 (2)

Guardrails, recovery paths, calibration, sensitive flows. Especially relevant for AI-powered interfaces where fake confidence is a liability.

03 / Production Hardening

Image 4 (3)

Specs, QA, governance, making design survivable in code. I close the gap between "looks great in Figma" and "works in production."

// Mission parameters

Not a fit if...

> You need visuals without system thinking. I don’t do “make it pretty.”
> You expect “AI magic” instead of honest, accountable UX.
> Decisions can’t be made. Endless alignment loops kill projects – and operators.
> Delivery quality is negotiable. If “good enough” is the bar, I’m not your pilot.

// OFF DUTY

Two operating modes. One system.

// MODE: SYSTEMATIC

THE ENGINEER

I run the same way I design: with structure, data, and protocol. Training plans, pace analysis, progressive overload. Physical stability is the operating system everything else runs on.

// MODE: CREATIVE

THE EXPLORER

Photography, painting, visual experiments. I chase aesthetics the way I chase edge cases - obsessively, looking for what others skip. Travel is the fastest way to break your own patterns.
